Lemon Law Firm, a history of legal practice.
James was a founding partner in Ahrens Hale & Lemon, LLC, the successor firm to The Rendlen Law Firm, which had been a fixture of Hannibal Society for over 80 years. When Ahrens, Hale & Lemon dissolved due to other partners leaving the legal profession, or leaving the area, James continued to practice law with the help of staff from the firm. With the advice and support of Jim Lemon in his of counsel capacity, as well as that of able associates, The Lemon Law Firm has continued as a member of the legal community in Northeast Missouri. Following in the
tradition established by the predecessor firms, the Lemon Law Firm is a general practice firm that provides legal services in many different areas of the law.

JAMES F. LEMON
Partner, City of Hannibal Attorney, City of Palmyra Attorney
A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law, James has practiced law since 1992. James’ practice includes government law, real estate, probate, estate planning, contracts, criminal defense, and general litigation. James has been the City Attorney for the City of Hannibal since 2003, and the Palmyra Prosecutor since 2015. James has also been the general manager of Wells Abstract Company since 1994. A native of Ralls County, James is a current member and the former president of the Hannibal Rotary Club, a former member of the Board of Directors for the Hannibal Chamber of Commerce, Current member of the New London Park Days Board.
ANDREW T. PATTERSON
Associate Attorney, Assistant City of Hannibal Prosecutor, Assistant City of Palmyra Prosecutor
Andrew is a lifelong Missourian who grew up in Southwest Missouri and now has made Hannibal his home. He graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri in the Spring of 2019 where he was involved in several on-campus leadership groups. He then went to the University of Missouri School of Law where he earned his J.D. in 2022. Right after passing the BAR in the Summer of '22 Andrew moved to Hannibal and joined the firm. As an associate attorney at Lemon & Matchett, Andrew's legal practice includes municipal prosecution, family law, estate planning, and other civil matters.

HANNIBAL
Hannibal is located on the Banks of the Mississippi River, approximately 100 miles North of St. Louis, 100 miles West of Springfield Illinois and 90 Miles Northeast of Columbia MO. Hannibal was founded in 1819 by Moses Bates, and was the third largest City In Missouri in 1846. Today Hannibal is home to over 17,000 people. It is home to several large factories, including Continental Cement and General Mills. With the Mississippi River, and nearby Mark Twain Lake, boating, swimming, water skiing, and
fishing are all available. Hannibal is the home to a thriving Art Community with artists from across the country choosing to relocate to Hannibal. Hannibal’s Downtown is home to museums, restaurants, shops, nightclubs and bars.
NEW LONDON
New London is located just 7 miles South of Hannibal. The County Seat of Ralls County, New London is home to just under 1000 people. Platted in 1819, New London is the home to the Ralls County Courthouse, which was completed in 1859. New London is a great small town with several restaurants, a full grocery store, and other shops for your immediate needs with Hannibal a few minute drive away.
